Arboretum Planting, April 21, 2005
On Thursday, April 21, 2005, several volunteers assisted
Penn State University and the Pennsylvania Chapter of The American Chestnut
Foundation in planting over 650 BC3F2 generation seed at the Penn State
University Arboretum. We thank all those who participated in the event
and hope to have as smooth a planting next spring!

planting, seed had only been planted in the Southern plots. |

the first BC3F2 trees planted within TACF. |

In the foreground are Matt and Cheryl Balkey. Chandis Klinger is

Seth was tasked with cutting holes in
the landscape fabric with a utility knife. I don't think I've ever
seen a kid so happy to be planting chestnuts! |
