Online Mailing Lists

For those of you unfamiliar with these lists, a mailing list is a way to share information with others through e-mail. When a member of a mailing list posts a message to the list, every member of the list receives that message to their e-mail address. Both of these groups are primarily discussions lists. This way, when any of the list's members sends a message to the mailing list's address, that message will be forwarded to all members of the list.

These lists are great sources of information as well as a great way to exchange ideas with those people interested in all things chestnut.

1. TACF - Growers Listserv

An open forum for discussion on all subjects related to the growing of chestnut trees.

TACF-GROWERS primary audience is members of The American Chestnut Foundation who participate in the regional breeding program. However, all chestnut enthusiasts are encouraged to participate.

To join, simply visit the following Web site:

http://lists.psu.edu/archives/tacf-growers.html

Click on Join or Leave the List . . .
and input the appropriate information.

2. PA-TACF - The Pennsylvania Chapter Listserv

A forum for announcements and discussion on all subjects related to the Pennsylvania Chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation.

The list is private and only accessible to members of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation.

PA-TACF-subscribe-request@lists.psu.edu

No subject or message text is required.

Once membership in the PA chapter of TACF has been verified, you will be approved and your e-mail address added to the list. You will receive a 'Welcome Message', which will give further directions about how to send messages to the list and how to manage the way you receive messages from the list if you desire to make changes.

If you experience difficulties subscribing to either
of these lists, please contact Sara Fitzsimmons
