A Brief History of the Efforts by Stronghold, Inc. to Restore the American Chestnut

Maryland Chapter president Essie Burnworth created a fantastic and delightfully detailed document which focuses on the efforts of American chestnut restoration efforts by Stronghold, Inc., based around Sugarloaf Mountain in central Maryland. Can the words "mutant chestnuts" entice you to read on?

Click here to go to an html version of the paper, A Brief History of the Efforts by Stronghold, Inc. to Restore the American Chestnut. Because of the relatively high resolution of the graphics in this paper, it may take several minutes for the entire document to download (i.e. over dial-up, it could take about 5 minutes).
